Moonshot Missions is delighted to announce that our founder George Hawkins and XPV

Water Partners have funded a challenge grant to support our efforts to ensure every

community has affordable clean water at the tap and in local waterways.

Your donation to Moonshot Missions, a 501c3 non-profit, will be doubled up to a

maximum of $25,000.

Moonshot was formed to answer a fundamental question threatening the health

and vitality of many communities across the US: How can the tens of thousands

of communities that face chronic shortfalls in revenue deliver clean water that is also affordable?

Moonshot offers an answer: a trusted, peer-to-peer advisory model that encourages a vigorous and systematic adoption of field-tested management, financial and operational steps which deliver improved environmental outcomes, cost savings, reduced demands on staff and often new revenues.

Please consider supporting our efforts to become a part of our transformative and essential work.

Your donation will enable our Moonshot team to travel, in person, to even more communities to help fulfill our mission. We pledge to do more than just solve immediate challenges, as critical as that is: Moonshot will help deliver permanent improvements to water quality and supply and improve utility finances and governance to secure affordable and sustainable clean water.

  • Dorchester County, Maryland: With 170,000 residents and a median income half

the state average, Moonshot secured funds to close failed wastewater ponds and planned a connection to a nearby regional authority.

  • Akron, Ohio: Moonshot assisted this community of 350,000—22.8% below the

poverty line—in testing disinfection methods that could save $200 million for

wastewater discharged to Lake Erie via the Cuyahoga River.

  • Hessmer, Louisiana: For a community of 800 with 30% of the population below the

poverty line, Moonshot helped develop a response to chronic violations, conducted

an operational assessment and is facilitating a maintenance and operations plan that will both ensure compliance and reduce long-term operating costs.

  • Wigwam, Colorado: For a rural community of 1,300, Moonshot helped secure

funding for a novel approach to removing PFAs from drinking water, that could be a

    model for rural systems nationwide.
