August 2026 Partner Newsletter

Our attached partner newsletter highlights many of our summer updates. In each category, you'll see an update on our UPM Workshop Series. This exciting 6-part series guides participants step by step through the UPM process. Participants will complete 6 virtual sessions on various elements of our UPM levers and 2 in-person sessions on adaptive leadership, all culminating in a Utility Performance Management certificate, a prioritized capital project list, an integrated business case narrative, and a 12-month action roadmap participants can put to work right away. More details on each session can be found here:
Other updates include:
UPM Outreach: We recently published a blog on our website that provides the origin story of Utility Performance Management, as well as an explanation of our approach to UPM and how this fits into our UPM workshop series. Additionally, we featured UPM in our 2025 Impact Report, and now share it alongside the Moonshot Method on our main webpage.
P3 Webinar: Our July webinar on "Public Private Partnerships: Lessons Learned" featured Paul Barthel, an experienced project manager currently working on the Fargo Metro Flood Diversion Program, and allowed participants to consider the ways they might make P3s work for them. Check out the P3 webinar and an archive of our other previous webinars here.
Expanding our network: We have expanded our Great Lakes work and have included new communities in Indiana and Michigan. If you know of any communities that would benefit from our technical assistance, reach out to us at info@moonshotmissions.org.
Thank you for your continued engagement, guidance, and support. Your insights and feedback are helping shape the development of Utility Performance Management (UPM) and strengthen Moonshot's PRESERVE network. Please don't forget to consider joining our online forum to be part of the conversation!
