This client was referred to Moonshot by Spring Point Partners. Working with the Financial Oversight and Management Board (FOMB), Moonshot identified
several opportunities for improvement in the drinking water, wastewater, financial and procurement operations of the Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (PRASA).
Moonshot conducted a holistic review and identified several opportunities for system optimization. Moonshot assisted FOMB and PRASA:
- in reviewing a proposed program to implement new metering systems for the drinking water system and identified a significantly less expensive way for PRASA to improve its metering program.
- in identifying measures to reduce non-revenue water figures.
- in reducing operational costs at both the drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- in identifying opportunities for green energy projects that would significantly reduce operational costs while also improving system resiliency and reliability.
