Allison Plante
Decker Utility Research Intern
Allison has been dedicated to environmental conservation and advocacy since childhood, inspired by the coastal ecosystems near Attleboro, Massachusetts, where she grew up. She founded her high school’s first Environmental Conservation Club before pursuing a Civil and Environmental Engineering degree at Marquette University, later transferring to the University of Miami. Passionate about water resources engineering and water quality innovation, Allison engages with on-campus organizations like Engineers Without Borders and the Florida Ocean Advocacy Team, and her senior design project addresses water quality issues in the Miami-Dade drainage canals, proposing green infrastructure solutions. To further shape her desired career path in non-profit environmental work, Allison is serving as a Decker Utility Research Intern at Moonshot Missions, where she can apply her technical expertise to improve drinking water quality and accessibility. Allison will be graduating from the University of Miami this fall with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical, Material, & Environmental Engineering.
