Alexander McPhail, PhD

Alex is a volunteer who works on complex wastewater challenges and searches for sustainable water supplies for both domestic and industrial uses. Before joining the team, he spent more than 30 years at the World Bank, leading major water and wastewater projects in over 20 countries. With 40 years of experience in water and wastewater supply, operations, finance, sector policy, and stakeholder engagement, he brings deep technical and strategic expertise to his work.
He believes that affordable access to water and sewer services is fundamental to a healthy and successful life and has dedicated his career to expanding these services to as many people as possible.
